The Media Project at HFRF seeks to raise the profile of the Forum and the individual Refugee Community Organisations in the borough and neighbouring areas, in the Media. The purpose is to achieve positive, fair and balanced coverage to counter the negative and often inaccurate reporting in the media.
Again besides supporting RCOs to deal more effectively with journalists, the project aims to represent the interest of member organisations on a strategic level and support RCOs as a united voice.
One-on-one advice sessions and training workshops are also provided to help RCOs recognise potential news stories, equip them with the confidence to deal directly with the media, initiate contacts to ‘sell’ their story to the media and to know how to respond to media request for an interview.
The Media Officer is Phil Cooper. And the Project is funded by the City Parochial Foundation.
You may contact the Forum and ask us to assist with your publicity needs. Also if you have a story to share let us know. Contact Phil Cooper on phil@hfrf.org.uk
